Note: Đầu sách có ghi việc Đường Ý Tông sai Cao Biền sang An Nam làm Đô hộ sứ, ngầm sai trấn yểm các long mạch quý địa của ta nhưng có Tản Viên sơn là tối linh thiêng, Biền yểm không được nên soạn ra sách Cu ̛̉u Long kinh này để dâng lên. Sách chia ra 3 phần: Trung chi Cửu long ca- Tả chi Cửu long ca- Hữu chi Cửu long ca, nói về các mạch đất tốt ở An Nam, nơi nào là quý địa phát mạch, nơi nào là đất xấu sinh họa tai.
